From the 20 to the 27 of September in 2021, WEA hosted a group of 10 employment centre workers from Poland in Portugal to learn more about what the south country does regarding Employment and Entrepreneurship. The scope of training included the topics such as : Portuguese systemic solutions aimed at effectively creating the right attitudes and initiating entrepreneurship; How to shape entrepreneurial attitudes; Methodologies of conducting workshops/training in the field of entrepreneurship; Good Practices in Portugal.
For that the group received training from our Portuguese team member regarding the public entity responsible for employment in Portugal (IEFP), like the support presented towards unemployment population, the Offices for Professional Integration where this team member have worked, actions in a job center and the entrepreneurial offices in Portugal.
Besides that, the group got to witness and go to organisations that focus on employment and entrepreneurship in Portugal, such as the Career Office in the university of ISEG Lisbon School of Economics and Management. Also, had an intervention and discussion with the Portuguese Association of Supported Employment (Associação Portuguesa de Emprego Apoiado - APEA) and finally got to see the work of the International Organization for Employment, the representative office of the International Labour Organization (U.N. agency) in Portugal.
As any Erasmus+ project the cultural side was also important, so WEA organised guided tours to experience Lisbon and learn more about the history of the most western country of Europe. The group saw Praça do Rossio (Rossio Square), Avenida da Liberdade (Freedom Avenue, “Portuguese Champs Elysees”), Praça dos Restauradores (Restauradores Square), Elevador de Santa Justa (Turn around and enjoy the view) and Sé de Lisboa (Lisbon Cathedral).
Got to walked through the magical Sintra, enjoy typical Portuguese food and drinks, listening to a Fado show, to balance the cultural growth with the training in this project.
